About LasikLasik is a procedure that reshapes the cornea to correct refractive errors such as Myopia (Nearsightedness), Hyperopia (Farsightedness) and Asigmatism. Asigmatism may be present with Myopia, Hyperopia or by itself. However, Mypoia and Hyperopia cannot be present together.
Presbyopia is a condition where near or reading vision becomes blurred with age (typically after 40 years). Presbyopes will require reading glasses for reading and computer work. Presbyopia is not corrected very well with Lasik but can be corrected permanently by implanting Multifocal intraocular lenses inside the eye.
Lasik is a proven procedure with a long track record and in the vast majority of cases, enables the return of natural vision without the need for glasses.
